No posts lately

Haven't posted in ages!  Just haven't taken the time or really had much to say.  Of course like everyone, we have been fighting the colds this past month or so.  That has made it hard to get much done.  A person doesn't have a lot of energy and ambition when their head is clogged and their nose is runny!  I'm fighting it for the second time in a month.  Hopefully the last time for the winter too.  

 Lots of pool playing going on too.  The state tourneys are coming up and the closer we get, the more geared up Denny gets.  Lots of practicing and playing to prepare him for the long days and long games that happen at state pool.  Just on a side note, Denny and I got 2nd in a man/woman doubles tourney on Valentine's day.  Denny and his friend Joe won a scotch doubles tourney last weekend and after that was over we played in a singles tourney.  Denny ended up third and I got fourth!  That's right folks, I almost beat him out!  I tried, but couldn't quite get it done!

So, between the pool and the colds, it seems I haven't done much else.  I haven't really kept up with my internet sites that I like, I haven't written on the blog, I haven't uploaded or sorted pics in ages, and I'm behind on email!  Wow!  That is so unlike me!  And, let's not even go there as far as what I'm slacking on at home!  Maybe one of these days, I won't be sick and I'll actually get caught up on things!  LOL!  

On that note, I'm going to link a little inspiration today.  I've done lots of browsing as I've been sick, since it doesn't take a lot of concentration! 

Design Sponge Blog-this blog is pretty cool.  Lots of neat stuff here.  Lots of different stuff too, but that can be part of the fun.  Really enjoy seeing people's houses/rooms and all the different color inspiration. http://www.designspongeonline.com/

This is a new blog that is just getting going.  But it looks like it will be pretty cool.  They will be reviewing scrap stuff/tools/etc. Adding to my favs to see how it is once they get going.

Pool Mini Album

This is a mini book I made awhile back.  It is misc. pictures of us and our friends while playing pool.  I wanted to make something where I could showcase these pictures and the different people we hang out with.  I made this album from scratch.  The covers are just basic chipboard that I cut to size and then painted with acrylic paint.  I cut the papers for the inside pages and added the photos and a few embellishments.  I didn't want too much.  This is about pool and mostly about men.  So I wanted it basic.  I must have done pretty good because Denny loves it and so do any of the guys he shows it to.  : )  Hope you enjoy it.  Let me know what you think.

December LO

I cut my hair!

Yah, I finally got sick of my hair and cut it off!  I like my long hair but it gets so dry and annoying the winter.  So, I decided I needed a change!  So far I like it.  It's only been a couple of days and I'm still experimenting with it.  Of course I look back at these photos of my long hair and I kind of miss it!  LOL!  Oh well, if I want, it will grow back.  Unfortunately I did not have enough length to donate my hair this time.  I did the last time I cut it off.  But it also ended up a little shorter that time too.  Maybe next time.  Leave a comment.  Let me know what you think.

Inpire Me!

Let's have some inspiration today!  

The winter CHA is happening this next week.  For those of you who don't know what that is, it is a show where all the craft/scrapbooking companies introduce/debut/show their new products!  It's pretty cool and exciting to look forward to the new stuff!  So, lots of the companies are giving "sneak peeks" of their products.  Today my inspiration will be some of my fav new products coming out.  Here goes:

November LO

This is my Nov. page for my monthly album. Had a lot of fun with layering the flowers. Had a little more journaling then I thought, so I made the journal paper stick off the top of the page. Kind of cool accident. Thanks for checking it out!

One word

I have decided that my one word for 2009 is going to be MOVE.  If you haven't heard of the one little word movement here is some more info. http://aliedwards.typepad.com/_a_/2007/01/one_little_word.html

This has turned into quite a thing, especially in the scrapbooking world.  But this isn't just a scrapbooking thing.  It relates to everything in your life.  I have been interested in this concept the last couple of years.  I haven't really put any thought into though and mostly for one reason.  I have a tendency to start something and not continue with it.  Well, this year I'm doing it.  I'm picking a word and I'm putting that word into my life.  I really want to do something to lose a little weight.  The main thing I need to do is exercise and just do more.  So, that is why I picked the word move.  As a reminder to myself to just move more.  Even if I'm not actually exercising, I can still be moving, using my body, burning calories.  So that is my goal.  To move!  

For now I am excited just to have the word and think of ways to incorporate it into my life.  I am making myself a couple of little signs to hang in the house.  The bathroom mirror, maybe on the fridge, stuff like that.  I think I will also put it as my desktop on the computer.  Kind of funny since I'm not moving when I'm on the computer!  LOL!  Maybe I will put up my word at work too.  Just to keep it in my thoughts during the day.  I guess we'll see where this goes.  Hopefully it helps me and inspires me and keeps me going.  

I hope that some of you decide to pick a word.  It can be anything, it's your word.  Hopefully it will inspire you or make you look inside yourself.  

Christmas cards

Here are the Christmas cards that I made this year.  I actually lifted the design and colors off of the cover of Scrapbooks Etc.  I loved the pink and green and really wanted to play with those colors this year for my cards.
